The CHIME has been loved for its ability to sweeten your signal with the touch sensitivity of vintage english amps on the edge of break up. The sweet saturation and harmonic excitement ends up being always-on for many players.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eLet’s start by saying everything we love about the CHIME has been preserved. Our team listened to feedback from players and dealers alike and then sharpened our pencils and set out to improve one of our favorite pedals. Through much toil we believe we have taken this pedal to the next level both sonically and functionally.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eNew Proprietary 36V Power Supply\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe are proud to announce a new proprietary true 36V Power supply! This new, extremely robust power supply uses a standard 9V supply and delivers a huge 36 volts of headroom with up to 10 times the current as our previous version. In short, this means the active electronics inside are running at their full potential, at their theoretical max safe operating level. As far as sound quality goes, high voltage means high headroom, which imparts an openness and 3D quality which sounds amazing and just feels great while playing. Now everyone can have the tonal experience of high headroom when they plug in the pedal, without the need for a special adapter.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eNew Relay Based True Bypass Circuit\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe next major upgrade is our new relay based true bypass circuit with soft touch switch. We have had many requests for this and found it harder than expected to develop a relay circuit that met our quality standards. We are very proud of our unique design which accomplishes a totally quiet switch via a sonically transparent gold contact relay. It even auto-bypasses when the power is disconnected. We designed this to be an upgrade to our current version one pedals as well and the new relay switch will be available to customers on our website.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eMini-Pots, Lower Noise, Active Level Output Control \u0026amp; More\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWhile the core CHIME circuit has been preserved, we looked at every part of every stage to see if there was anything that could be improved. We removed the mini toggles and upgraded to mini pots for full control over the clipping range and sweepable High Pass Filter (HPF; i.e. Low Cut). We lowered the noise, increased the headroom of every stage and extended the frequency response to be a bit wider. We also added our active level output control which allows for no tone loss when adjusting the output level. The GOLD ships set in the High Headroom position, for our most dynamic, touch sensitive drive experience but some guitarist may prefer the Low Headroom setting. The Low Headroom setting will add harmonics and an increased sense of breakup and gain with a slight tightening of the lows, this pushes the upper gain ranges well into classic distortion territory and great for those who want a very saturated tone. The other mini-toggle adds a vintage amp style Orange Drop capacitor into the High EQ circuit. At the core of the CRUSH controls are the two mini-toggles for RATIO and RELEASE. Each mini-toggle offers three settings for dialing in a vast array of different compression settings. The RATIO’s settings are LIGHT, 2:1 ratio, MED with a 4:1 ratio and HEAVY for a 10:1 ratio. The RELEASE settings are FAST, MED and SLOW and they set how long the compressor takes to recover once the threshold has been passed. The compression threshold is set via the “COMPRESSION” knob. The amount of compression increases as you lower the threshold by turning the knob clockwise. Use the “LEVEL” control to make-up for gain lost by the compression effect.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThe CRUSH offers two more controls for shaping the tone beyond normal compressors. The TILT EQ knob adds a lot of tone-shaping power with one simple knob and has been voiced specifically to compliment the CRUSH. It has a neutral tone setting at noon, while brightness increases as you turn it to the right and it darkens the tone as you turn it to the left. The “MIX” control allows the user to add in a bit of the clean, un-compressed signal by turning the knob clockwise. This affects the feel of the pedal by adding back in transients and natural pick attack that can be smoothed out at higher compression settings.
