Here is an instrument that honors his legacy with high-quality components and build. What you get is a 3-ply violin grade maple rim with a Hartford Grenadillo Tone Ring. This resonant body is matched with a beautiful quartersawn AA grade curly maple neck with a slender \"D\" shape with a satin Dark Walnut finish with 22 nickel frets. Stay in tune with Deering Planetary Tuners, a Deering Gotoh Geared 5th string Tuner, and a bone nut. John Hartford was a licensed river boat captain and wanted Deering to put some sort of a riverboat theme into his banjo.
