The Custom Shop ’64 Strat Journeyman Relic is a faithful recreation of that transitional year’s model, with several compelling custom modifications ideal for all players.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003e   \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003eIts two-piece select alder body wears a Journeyman Relic lacquer finish with the perfect amount of wear. The quartersawn maple neck has a 1963 “C” profile, 9.5”-radius round-lam rosewood fingerboard and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets.\u003cbr\u003e \u003cbr\u003eCustom Shop hand-wound gray bottom ’64 Strat pickups (with reverse-wound\/reverse polarity middle pickup) are connected to Vintage Modified #2 wiring with Tone-Saver bleed circuitry and a five-way switch for period-correct tone that preserves highs even at lower volumes.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003e \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eFor those of you wondering, the \"Target\" in the name is in reference to how sunburst finishes were often done back in the mid-60's.  Fender's way of doing sunburst evolved and changed over the years.  Most fans know the different of 2-Tone Sunburst in the 50's versus 3-Tone Sunburst in the 60's.  What some aren't aware of is that there was even more variety over the years, especially in the mid-60's.  A brighter, more vibrant, somewhat circular \"target\" paint job was used on instruments.  Recently, the Custom Shop decided to recreate that look and this is one of the first to be done like that.  We actually had a role in this development, as it was worked on to do a Custom Shop build for one of our customers that was very particular on the style of sunburst for his instrument.  After that, we asked about doing more builds with that color, and the name Target 3-Tone Sunburst was created.  We absolutely love how it came out!\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003e  \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003eAlso, check out the knobs on this guitar - they are aged white with green numbers, to recreate the look seen on many vintage Strats.  This is a very small thing, but it's this attention to detail that makes the Custom Shop so special.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003e \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv style=\"text-align: start;\"\u003eOther features include a three-ply mint green pickguard, custom shop synchronized tremolo, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and wing string tree with tall metal spacer.
