The neck features a ’57-style “soft V” profile, vintage compound compound radius fingerboard (7.25”- 9.5”) and 21 narrow tall (6105) frets. We asked for the finish to be worn off of the back of the neck, giving it a great worn in feel. Also, this one came out very light - it weighs in at just 6.5 lbs.

Not only is this an amazing playing and sounding guitar, it's a very cool, rarely seen color: Tomatillo Green. It's not really a true "green" per se; it's more like a blonde with a tint of green added in. We had never seen it before and fell in love as soon as we opened the case. The Journeyman Relic treatment looks great on the Flash Coat Lacquer finish, which is very thin, allowing the guitar to breathe nicely. It has just the right amount of wear - creating the appearance of a guitar that has been used but not abused. We really like how the aging and especially the checking came out - be sure to zoom in on the photos.

The Tomatillo Tele pickups are wired up to a ’51 Modified Nocaster wiring with a blender pot instead of master tone. We've found this to be a very useful set up for a Tele, allowing the player a variety of tones. Additionally, for those that want to convert to a regular Tele set up, a Fat ’50s control assembly is included in the case for those who prefer that sound and style.

Other features include a single-ply parchment pickguard, reverse-angle Nocaster bridge with compensated RSD brass saddles, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and disc string tree. Includes deluxe hardshell case, strap and certificate of authenticity.

This is a special Tele, and we love what the Custom Shop did with it. Come to Club Fender at Truetone Music to check it out, or order right here right now.

Serial # R123914

Weight: 6.5 lbs

Part # 9235001529

Finish Package: Journeyman Relic with Heavy Checking

Finish: Flash Coat Lacquer

Color: Tomatillo Green

Pickguard: Single Ply Parchment

Neck Pickup: Hand-wound Tomatillo Tele

Bridge Pickup: Hand-wound Tomatillo Tele

Body: 2 Piece Select Ash

Sort for Lightweight

Neck: Rift Sawn Maple

Tint: Medium

Neck Finish: Flash Coat Lacquer with Fret Ghosting and Finish Removed from Back

Dots: Micarta Black

Neck Shape: 57 Soft "V"

Frets: 21

Fretwire: 6105

Radius: Compound 7.25 - 9.50"

Neck Nut Width: 1.650"

Neck Thickness at 1st Fret: .940"

Neck Thickness at 12th Fret: .970"

Neck Butt Width: 2.200"

Bone Nut

Hardware: Chrome

Knobs: Knurled Chrome

Tuners: Vintage

String Tree: Disc

Bridge: Reverse Nocaster with Brass RSD Saddles

Neck plate: Engraved Limited Edition

Note: Fat 50's Wiring Assembly included in case

Case: Custom Shop Deluxe Tweed

.
https://www.truetonemusic.mom/products/fender-custom-shop-limited-edition-tomatillo-tele-journeyman-relic-tomatillo-green-with-case
