The Gibson J-45 is truly one of the most legendary acoustic guitars ever made.  From countless hit records to continuous stage usage, everyone has heard one.  For many, going back to the early 1940's is the way to go, and it's considered to be the most desirable of vintage acoustics.  You can step back in time with a guitar like this one right here.

The allure and legend of the Gibson J-45 lives on in the new Custom Historic 1942 Banner J-45. Inspired by the holy grail of vintage acoustic instruments, luthiers in Montana meticulously crafted a J-45 just like the most popular and celebrated version in structure and components.

The new 1942 Banner J-45 includes a Thermally Aged Adirondack red spruce top hand-sprayed with a historic-style burst, hot hide glue top bracing for better tonal response, and a bone nut and saddle.  You get an aged feel and sound without relic'ing, and a tone that is hard to match with other new acoustics.  

Whether sitting or standing, the J-45 is super comfortable thanks to it's round-shoulder design and historically accurate mahogany neck, toped with a rosewood fretboard.  The Honduran mahogany body and Adirondack red spruce top project and strong, warm tone.  Strumming, fingerpicking and flatpicking a variety of styles is doable - the J-45 is a versatile guitar.

The Gibson Custom Shop in Montana nails the thermal-aging process, done to remove moisture and other impurities, helping to recreate a guitar that seems like it's been on earth for 80 years.  You end up getting a more vintage sounding guitar, that's also durable and sure to last.
