Additionally, it has the correct Hofner Staple pickups. There's only one way to get the classic sound, and this is it!

A special vintage finish Violin Bass created by Hofner's master in the violin lacquer department. Beautifully aged to look authentically vintage, but with the advantage of a brand new bass. Very special and secret varnishes are used to achieve the remarkable aged finish. Each bass is a unique instrument, no two are exactly alike as the ageing process is all done by hand.

Hand-made in Germany, all models are supplied with a pearloid pickguard (not mounted) and include a Höfner Vintage strap and hardshell case.

The sound of a Violin Bass is unlike any other bass. When used with flatwound strings it produces a distinctive deep and penetrating thud not unlike an upright double bass. This sound can be used to emulate those pop sounds of the 1960s or slightly overdriven in a modern rock band to provide a deep driving bass. It is also commonly used today in studios for recording bass lines for dance music. It has also seen increasing use in reggae bands where a deep driving bass is always wanted. Despite being one of the smallest basses available it easily produces massive bass lines and is remarkably versatile.

Specifications

Handmade in Germany

Instrument: Violin Bass Vintage
Model: H500/1-RLC-63-0

Body

Shape: Violin Bass
Wood Top: Spruce
Soundhole: None
Wood Back: Flame Maple
Wood Sides: Flame Maple
Binding Top: Black / White / Black
Binding Back: Black / White / Black
Binding Sides: White
Centerblock: None

Neck

Wood: Flame Maple
Construction: Two Piece
Headstock Shape: Hofner Violin Bass
Logo and Artwork: Script
Neck Joint: Violin Bass Set Neck
Joint At: 16th Fret
Thickness Neck + FB At 1st Fret: 21mm
Thickness Neck + FB At 12th Fret: 24mm
Heel Cap: White Pearl

Fingerboard

Wood: Rosewood
Scale: 30" / 76cm
Nut Width: 42mm
Width At 12th Fret: 48mm
Inlays: Pearl Dots
Binding: None
Side Dots: None
Number of Frets: 22

Bridge

Material: Ebony
Type: Hofner Fretted

Hardware

Tuners: Strip Nickel
Tuner Buttons: Plastic
Tailpiece: Hofner Trapeze Nickel
Nut Material: Plastic
Pickguard: White Pearl
Pickup Neck: Hofner Staple Nickel
Pickup Bridge: Hofner Staple Nickel
Potentiometer Knobs: Gold top
Electrics: Hofner Pearl Panel
Strings: Hofner Flat Wound

.
https://www.truetonemusic.mom/products/hofner-1963-reissue-violin-bass-vintage-aged-sunburst-h500-1-63-rlc-with-case
