Vintage 1983 Ibanez CP-9 Compressor/Limiter Guitar Effect Pedal - Red

Here's a classic from1983, this vintage Ibanez CP-9 Compressor/Limiter! It is a standout entry from Ibanez’s legendary 9-Series, crafted in Japan by Maxon. Housed in its iconic gloss-red die-cast enclosure, the CP-9 steps up from two-knob compressors by adding a dedicated Attack Time. Powered by a high-grade Japanese VCA circuit, it offers exceptional headroom and low noise, letting you dial in everything from transparent dynamic smoothing compression to heavy, percussive peak limiting without smothering your tone’s natural top-end.

The three-knob layout provides total control over how the compressor reacts to your instrument's tones. Backing off the Attack knob lets your initial pick attack slice cleanly through the mix before the gain reduction clamps down, while cranking the Threshold and Volume knobs gives you rich, musical sustain that perfectly enhances country hybrid picking, funky rhythm part, and sweet singing clean leads. It's in great working order and ready for your board.
