Because the arch holds its own shape, there's no bracing on the back, and the sides can stay shallower than typical while the center of the body still has full dreadnought depth. The result is a guitar that sits more comfortably under your arm but still projects with plenty of volume and a strong, focused midrange that holds its own in any room. The 25.5" scale adds a bit of string tension and snap compared with Gibson's shorter-scale slope shoulders, and the dove inlay on the headstock is a nice nod to the model's name. It's super comfortable to play.

At first strum, we were thoroughly impressed. The construction helps project a clear, direct tone, while it being made of mahogany, it's quite warm, especially compared to the original maple version. It's powerful sounding and a bit dark in a good way, with the spruce top adding just the right amount of brightness and touch sensitivity.

It has been fitted with an LR Baggs Element VTC, so it's ready for the stage as well as the couch. The Element is an undersaddle pickup with small volume and tone thumbwheels tucked just inside the soundhole, giving you quick control of level and brightness without reaching for a preamp pedal. You get the true sound of the guitar without extra coloring. There's a very good reason that the Baggs VTC is one of the most popular choices for outfitting an acoustic with a pickup/preamp.

This Gibson Gospel is good condition, especially considering it's over 30 years old. The techs in our shop have set it up to play perfectly and it's ready to go, with its original hardshell case included.

* Serial #: 90703026

* Year: 1993
* Made in: Bozeman, Montana, USA
* Body: Square-shoulder dreadnought
* Top: Solid Sitka spruce
* Back: Arched laminated mahogany
* Sides: Mahogany
* Neck: Mahogany
* Fingerboard: Rosewood with dot inlays
* Scale Length: 25.5"
* Nut Width: 1 11/16"
* Electronics: LR Baggs Element VTC undersaddle pickup with soundhole volume and tone controls
* Finish: Natural

https://www.truetonemusic.mom/products/pre-owned-1993-gibson-gospel-natural-with-lr-baggs-vtc-pickup-and-ohsc
