This can be filed under the "never seen that before" category - here we have a super rare Taylor electric guitar, built as a prototype.  We had never seen one ourselves until it came in recently.  It was made in 2009 as a potential Zach Myers signature model that never came to be.  Now this one-of-a-kind guitar is available on the market for the first time.

It's super unique, with a stunning finish, and in primo condition.  The model is called a SolidBody - Taylor was testing out a possible market launch.  This one was for Zach Myers, so it features the ZMSM inlay on the fretboard.  The body is thin and quite light, coming at just 7.2 lbs.  It's the sort of guitar that you can keep strapped on all night without fatigue.  The neck has a very comfortable C profile and is easy to play.  It features Taylor's own custom-wound HG (High Gain) humbuckers.   They work well for a variety of styles but especially shine with heavier music.  The controls are simple, with just a volume and tone, and a 3-way switch.

Other features include a custom-made hardtail bridge, Taylor tuners and pearl inlay on the headstock.  The color is called White Pearl Sparkle, which is truly eye-catching.  We haven't seen anything else with this type of finish before.  As great as it looks great in the photos, it's even better in person.

As you can see, the back of the guitar is engraved "Not For Sale".  That's because it was originally built as a prototype and not intended for the retail market as a new guitar at the time.  Now, it's a used guitar and available for purchase.

The original hardshell case is included, and the guitar has has been setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  It's super clean - the guitar was held in a private collection, never really played, so it looks almost new, 17 years after being built.  This super rare ZMSM prototype is quite the find!
