Crafted with hand-picked maple for back and sides and a headstock stinger, the instrument is further enhanced with thermal aging of the top for a truly vintage feel.

We are excited to present a previously-owned, barely ever played, Custom Shop 1957 SJ-200. Built in 2022, a regular customer just bought this a few months ago, before realizing that it just wasn't the guitar for him. For anyone that knows they like large acoustics, and wants the big, booming sound of a Gibson Jumbo, this is the one.

As expected, Gibson's workshop in Montana turned out an absolute stunner here, especially when it comes to the wood for the back & sides of the body. It's hand-selected Flame Maple - and while our photos show it, in person it's even more impressive. We've seen other SJ-200's like this, and none compare to how nicely figured the flame is on this one. The thermally aged Sitka Spruce top is also spectacular. This pair provides excellent clarity and definition to the full, rich tone of a jumbo, perfectly for flat-picking, strumming or a variety of styles.

The guitar comes with the original hardshell case and certificate of authenticity. It's in perfect condition - as stated previously, the previous owner had it for just a few months and barely played it. It has been vetted and setup by the techs in our repair shop to play perfectly. This is the opportunity to score a great deal on a guitar that is currently backordered from Gibson for over a year out. We have a special guitar here, and will be sad to see it go - make it yours today by coming to Truetone Music to try it out, or order right here to have it shipped to your home.

Body Shape: SJ-200

Top: Thermally Aged Sitka spruce

Back: Flame maple

Side: Flame maple

Bracing: Traditional Hand Scalloped X-bracing, with hide glue

Binding: Multi-ply top, multi-ply back

Finish: Thin Finish Nitrocellulose, VOS

Neck Material: 2-piece maple

Profile: Round

Scale Length: 25.5"

Fingerboard Material: Rosewood

Fingerboard Radius: 12"

Number Of Frets 20

Frets: Standard

Nut Material: Bone

Nut Width: 1.72"

Inlays: Mother-of-pearl Graduated Crowns

Joint: Compound Dovetail Neck-to-body

Bridge: SJ-200 Four Bar Moustache

Saddle Material: Bone

Bridge Pins: Bone

Pickguard: Casted SJ-200

Tuning Machines: Gotoh Keystone

Hardware: Gold

Truss Rod Cover: Black with Wide White

Case: Period Correct Case

Accessories: Includes Gibson Accessory Kit

Serial # 21072012
