For the neck pickup the EMG 35HZ pickup which uses EMG's \"CS\" design (Ceramic and Steel). All of the HZ bass pickup models feature solid bar magnets that cover the entire width of the strings so any string layout can be used. The EMG SJHZ pickup uses a stacked design with ceramic magnets and a laminated steel core for increased output and lower noise.
