{"product_id":"pre-owned-vintage-1972-gibson-hummingbird-sunburst-with-ohsc","title":"Vintage 1972 Gibson Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar Sunburst With OHSC","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cimg src=\"https:\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0789\/2433\/files\/vintage_and_used.png?v=1742598156\" alt=\"Used And Vintage\"\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"cmp cmp-read-more-less\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"more text-pre\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv align=\"left\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv align=\"left\"\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eWe just took in a rather special guitar, a beauty right out of 1972.  This is the year of Watergate, The Godfather and David Bowie's The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust.  It's also the year of this wonderful Gibson Hummingbird.   That was \u003cspan\u003ea distinctive era of Gibson craftsmanship during the Kalamazoo-to-Nashville transition.  You don't see many Hummingbirds from then, especially not as nice as this one.\u003c\/span\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eWith its unmistakable silhouette, warm mahogany character, and radiant sunburst finish, the Gibson Hummingbird is a truly classic guitar.  It's a square-shoulder dreadnought made of solid mahogany, with a solid Sitka spruce top.  This brings you the classic warmth and resonance associated with a Hummingbird, along with the just the right amount of top end sparkle.  This is a guitar that sounds big without getting boomy, and can shimmer without sounding thin.  In other words, it's well balanced.  Of course the guitar has a rich Cherry Sunburst finish with the iconic pickguard that defines what it means to be a Hummingbird.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThe guitar has a mahogany neck topped with a bound rosewood fretboard, adorned with pearl parallelogram inlays.  It's super comfortable, especially after being setup to play perfectly by the techs in our shop.  It has a rosewood bridge with the adjustable saddle design characteristic of many Gibson flat-tops from the early-to-mid 1970s.  \u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThis Hummingbird is in good condition considering its age.  The finish has held up and still looks fantastic.  There are plenty of marks but nothing major - it's normal player wear.  We found that the guitar once had a jack, and the hole was plugged, and other similar fixes.  It's been fully vetted by our shop; the guitar plays and sounds fantastic.  The original hardshell case is included.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eThis vintage instrument embodies the soul of classic American acoustic guitar making and is quite the find, especially at this price.\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv\u003eSerial # 964009\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e","brand":"Gibson","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67809753399539,"sku":"84GIB054","price":2999.99,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0789\/2433\/files\/1-Img52481.jpg?v=1793040511","url":"https:\/\/www.truetonemusic.mom\/products\/pre-owned-vintage-1972-gibson-hummingbird-sunburst-with-ohsc","provider":"Truetone Music","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
