The tonal qualities of Koa blend mahogany’s midrange with maple’s top end, and its density contributes to a bright, tight tone similar to maple when first played; however, when played more frequently, the sound opens up, widening the midrange and providing a fuller, more resonant tone.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThe Neo-tropical Mahogany neck has Taylor's Standard Carve neck profile and 24 7\/8\" scale length, with the neck meeting the body at the 12th fret, making this compact guitar very comfortable.  The neck is topped with a West African Crelicam Ebony fretboard.  It's incredibly smooth and easy to play, just as you'd expect from a Taylor like this.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cspan\u003e Featuring Taylor's proprietary V-Class bracing, this guitar allows the soundboard to flex naturally while providing increased rigidity along the center.
